Stating that a larger than expected fibroid mass was successfully removed, Gynaecologist Op. Dr. Mehmet Gül, one of the doctors of Adıyaman Private Park Hospital Hanstanesi; "In the examinations of our single patient who came to our hospital with the complaint of enlarged abdomen, it was determined that there was a large fibroid in her uterus extending to the stomach. Our patient was informed that she should have surgery and that her uterus may need to be removed due to the risks involved in the surgery. She agreed to have surgery. We performed a successful operation that lasted about two hours. The fibroid of our patient, who was single but her abdomen looked like the abdomen of a 9-month pregnant woman, was about the size of a football and 2630 grams. Fibroids are benign lump masses that we see in approximately one in 4 women. Most of the time they do not cause complaints. They are usually detected on ultrasound during routine examination. When they are large, numerous or located close to the inner part of the uterus, they may cause complaints such as groin pain, excessive bleeding, constipation, abdominal mass sensation, bloating, frequent urination. Depending on their location, they can cause miscarriages and infertility in the uterine cavity or close to it. Their growth should be monitored by the doctor at certain intervals. Small fibroids or fibroids that do not cause any complaints do not require treatment. They can shrink temporarily with drug treatment, but the main treatment is to remove the fibroid by leaving the uterus in place by surgical method."

The woman whose fibroids were removed with the surgery performed by Op. Dr. Mehmet Gül, an obstetrician-gynecologist at Adıyaman Parkhospital; "My abdomen went down like a woman who gave birth, my bloating decreased, I felt very good during and after the surgery. About 3 kilos were lost from my body. My surgery, which I was afraid of fearing that my uterus would be removed, was completed without damaging my uterus and ovaries. I had surgery yesterday, I am being discharged today. Thank you to the hospital and my doctor."
