PATIENT RIGHTS<\/strong><\/h4>

Human rights can be defined as the inherent equality and freedom of all human beings in all respects. This freedom is balanced with the obligation to respect the rights of others and not to violate these rights. There are various human rights. Patient rights are one of the basic human rights.<\/p>

* General utilisation of the service:<\/p>

Benefit from health services within the framework of the principles of justice and equity. The right to receive services regardless of race, language, religion and sect, gender, philosophical belief, economic and social status.<\/p>

* Informing and requesting information:\u00a0<\/p>

He\/she has the right to be informed about the availability of all kinds of health services and facilities and to request all kinds of information about his\/her health status orally or in writing.<\/p>

* Selecting and changing the health institution and its staff:\u00a0<\/p>

They have the right to choose and change the health institution and to benefit from the health services provided in the health facility they have chosen, to learn the identities, duties and titles of the physicians and other health professionals who will provide health services.<\/p>

* Privacy:\u00a0<\/p>

They have the right to receive all kinds of health services in a confidential environment.<\/p>

* Refusal, stop and consent:\u00a0<\/p>

He\/she has the right to refuse treatment, to request its cessation, to obtain his\/her consent in medical interventions and to benefit from the service within the framework of consent.<\/p>

* Security:\u00a0<\/p>

To receive health care in a safe environment,<\/p>

* To be able to fulfil religious obligations:\u00a0<\/p>

They have the right to fulfil their religious obligations to the extent of the facilities of the health facility and within the framework of the measures taken by the administration.<\/p>

* Respect for human values, dignity and comfort:<\/p>

He\/she has the right to receive health care with respect, care and attention, in a friendly, kind, compassionate environment, with all kinds of hygienic conditions, noise and all disturbing factors eliminated.<\/p>

* Visiting and accompaniment:\u00a0<\/p>

The patient has the right to receive visitors within the framework of the procedures and principles determined by the health facilities and to have a companion to the extent of the legislation and the facilities of the health facility and if the physician deems appropriate.<\/p>

* Right of application, complaint and litigation:\u00a0<\/p>

In case of violation of their rights, they have the right to use all kinds of applications, complaints and lawsuits within the framework of the legislation.<\/p>

Your responsibilities<\/p>

Recently, in addition to patient rights, the concept of \"Patient Responsibility\" has also emerged. The content and scope of this concept has not yet been defined. However, in general, it can be defined as the duties and obligations that the patient must fulfil before and after applying to a health institution. It is possible to dimension the responsibilities of the patient. We can briefly list them in items:<\/p>

1. General Responsibilities<\/p>

People should do their best to take care of their own health and follow the advice given for a healthy life.
If the person is eligible, they can give blood or donate organs.
In simple cases, people should take care of themselves.<\/p>

2. Social Security Status<\/p>

Patients are obliged to notify changes in their health, social security and personal information in a timely manner.
The patient is obliged to have his\/her health card (such as Ba\u011f-Kur, Green Card) visa done on time.<\/p>

3. Informing Health Workers<\/p>

The patient should give full and complete information about his\/her complaints, previous illnesses, whether he\/she has received any inpatient treatment, the medications he\/she is currently taking, if any, and all information about his\/her health.<\/p>

4. Compliance with Hospital Rules<\/p>

The patient must comply with the rules and practices of the health institution to which he\/she applies.
The patient must follow the referral chain determined by the Ministry of Health and other social security institutions.
The patient is expected to co-operate with health professionals during the treatment, care and rehabilitation process.
If the patient benefits from a health facility that provides services by appointment, he\/she must comply with the date and time of the appointment and notify the relevant place of any changes.
The patient must respect the rights of hospital staff, other patients and visitors.
The patient is obliged to compensate for damages to hospital equipment.<\/p>

5. Compliance with Treatment Recommendations<\/p>

The patient should listen attentively to the advice about treatment and medication and ask questions if they do not understand.
If the patient is unable to comply with the recommendations regarding his\/her treatment, he\/she should report this to the health worker.
The patient should indicate whether he\/she has correctly understood the health care and post-discharge care plan as expected.
The patient is responsible for the consequences arising from his\/her refusal of the treatment to be applied or failure to comply with the recommendations.<\/p>
